Getting Here by Car 

We recommend travelling by car, as public transport in the region is limited.

Approximate driving times:

• From Picton: 2 hours 45 minutes via State Highway 6
• From the West Coast: 4 hours via State Highway 6
• From Christchurch: 6 hours via State Highway 7

Directions from Nelson:

Follow State Highway 6 south to Richmond. Continue straight through the traffic lights. At the roundabout just after the lights, take the exit toward Motueka (State Highway 60).

Stay on Highway 60 for approximately 40 km (25 miles) until you reach the roundabout at the entrance to Motueka. Take the second exit onto High Street.

Continue along High Street (Hwy 60), the main road through Motueka, and follow it out of town for about 8 km (5 miles). Stay on the main highway as it crosses the Motueka River (a long, narrow two‑lane bridge), curves right through Riwaka, and then crosses the Riwaka River Bridge.

Around 200 metres after the Riwaka Bridge, turn right at the sign for Abel Tasman National Park via Kaiteriteri. Follow this road for 6 km to reach Kaiteriteri.

In Kaiteriteri: 

Once in Kaiteriteri, follow the signs for Kimi Ora Eco Resort. Take the first road on the left (just before the bridge) and continue following the resort signage
